This course will meet all the requirements of the Sexual Assault Incident Procedure Act (Public Act 099-0801) which was enacted January 1, 2017. This Act requires all agencies employing law enforcement officers who conduct sexual assault and abuse investigations be required to provide specialized training within 2 years (January 1, 2019) of the effective date of this act. The act also requires that agencies present training to all law enforcement officer who are initial responders within 3 years (January 1, 2020) of the effective date of this act. The training for initial responders will begin later 2018 with an option of online training or training course approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
