At the end of this eight-hour block of instruction participants will be able to:

  1. Accurately respond to predicate questions used by the prosecution.
  2. Accurately respond to questions posed by the defense.
  3. Anticipate challenges used by defense experts.
  4. Understand when it is appropriate to say, “I don’t know” to avoid providing incorrect answers.
  5. Provide correct responses based upon court decisions.

    This training is designed for the experienced law enforcement officers who conducts DUI investigations.  It will provide the student with a wide variety of questions often used by defense attorneys in court.  These questions are typically designed to confuse and manipulate an officer to answer in a manner which benefits the defense.  The questions sometimes focus on items that may not be annotated in training materials nor part of an officer’s typical DUI training.
