First day of this training will be held at West Central IL Criminal Justice Council MTU 9 – 303 W. Exchange, Jerseyville, IL, The second day of this training will be held Otter Creek Hunting Club – 19201 Hunting Club Road, Jerseyville, IL.

This 16-hour course will familiarize students with patrol rifle nomenclature, patrol rifle marksmanship and patrol rifle maintenance. Numerous courses of live fire will be conducted to increase the students weapons handling abilities and marksmanship.  Classroom instruction will be provided covering topics included but not limited to Administrative Rules and Requirements, Safety Rules, Use of Force, and De-escalation Techniques.

STUDENTS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Department approved rifle with sling and two magazines
  • Department approved handgun, duty belt, and two magazines
  • Eye and hearing protection
  • 300 rounds of quality rifle ammunition
  • 50 rounds of quality pistol ammunition
  • Weapons cleaning kit
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Hydration equipment
  • Lunch
  • Gear for inclement weather (We will train rain or shine)
