COURSE OVERVIEWLaw Enforcement and Corrections officers often are called upon to respond to individuals who are having an Agitated Chaotic Event. Several high-profile incidents have led to massive civil awards and even criminal charges being brought forth against the involved officers who were unprepared for the events they were attempting to manage.This course seeks to provide officers, dispatchers, legal advisors, and administrators with information they need to develop and implement policy and procedures to understand and respond to Agitated Chaotic Events. This course will review tactical, legal, and medical implications when grounding an individual.COURSE GOALS� Define the problem Agitated Chaotic Event situations present for law enforcement and corrections� Discuss the role emergency communication operators play in early identification of Agitated Chaotic Events� Define Agitated Chaotic Event as compared to Excited Delirium� Understand potential claims against the law enforcement community and representative agencies when responding to Agitated Chaotic Events� Review legal considerations Agitated Chaotic Events� Review medical considerations Agitated Chaotic Events� Review response considerations Agitated Chaotic Events� Recognize and Respond to Abnormal Breathing
