COURSE OVERVIEW: Policing In A Digital World is an investigative class for all levels of law enforcement. The course focuses utilizing the most up to date investigative techniques combing law enforcement tools with open-source media. Students are provided real case study of successful prosecution of suspects where instructor Ben Sullivan was the case agent, Students will have the opportunity to learn how to build and utilize social media in addition to other tools to rapidly investigate a smaller investigation and then rapidly grow it into larger types of investigations if desired. Students will then be taught how to collect evidence, write reports, and author search warrant affidavits. Templates and examples for all these topics are provided to each student. COURSE GOALS:The training provides participants the techniques and structure to new investigative tools and methods. This is completed by providing new investigative techniques, tools, and case examples that are backed by state/federal law. Students are then further instructed how to effectively gather evidence, and author affidavits/reports.
