Use of Force/Officer Safety Techniques in Firearm Training

MEETS IL MANDATES: Law Concerning Stops, searches, and use of force (.50 hr.), Officer Safety techniques, including cover, concealment, and time (1 hr./1 hr. scenario-based training)This Firearms Qualification and Use of Force Training will be conducted to allow officers the ability to demonstrate multiple skills including but not limited to accuracy, stress inoculation, the use of cover, concealment and time, movement to include retreating to cover. The officers will be evaluated by the score of the State Mandated 30 Round Course of Fire as well as their understanding and demonstration of the techniques taught. Officers shall discuss and receive the revised “Review of Use of Force with a Firearm” brochure for Active-Duty Law Enforcement Officers.Students should bring the following.1. Eye and ear protection2. Duty belt and duty weapon3. 50 rounds of pistol ammo4. Patrol Rifle5. 30 rounds of rifle ammo6. Dress for weather.
