Meets IL Mandates: Civil Rights (3.5 hrs.), Constitutional Use of LE Authority (3.5 hrs.), Cultural Competency (1 hr.)

The focus of this course is to provide law enforcement personnel with specialized training that will assist in developing the knowledge and skill level needed to effectively and professionally utilize informants during patrol duties, street-level operations, complex criminal investigations, and federal anti-terrorism operations with today’s most experienced criminals and terrorist groups. Each specific module has been designed for every participant to focus on self-evaluation and address their own strong and weak points, guided by their department guidelines, as they prepare to become professional and effective C.I. handlers.

From newer officers to the more experienced detectives and agents, participants will learn today’s legal aspects and street-smart techniques needed in the field and in the courtroom to optimize a C.I.’s ability and legal capabilities during any operation.
