This course has been designed for the purpose of addressing the issue of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) as it specifically relates to people who are on the autism spectrum when they interact with law enforcement. It is designed to provide information and understanding to officers as they serve people with ASD and who display signs and symptoms of this disorder. The training will focus on helping officers identify individuals with autism spectrum disorders, understand their communication styles, and develop appropriate response techniques.
