Use of Force

De-escalation Techniques 1 1/2 hrs./1 hr. scenario-based training hours

High-risk Traffic Stops 1 1/2 hrs./1 hr. scenario-based training hours

Law concerning stops, searches, and use of force 1 1/2 hrs./1 hr. scenario-based training hours

Officer Safety Techniques 1 1/2 hrs./1 hr. scenario-based training hours

This 8-hour program has been designed to provide instructor training to use the latest and advanced video, laser, RF, and programming technology to provide and intuitive, easy to maintain training tools. These tools are designed to aid in teaching Public Safety Personnel to effectively and safely perform their duties.The Officer will be able to set up and employ the TI Training Simulator. The Officer will be able to instruct simulated scenarios and conduct individual and group debriefs. The Officer will be able to instruct use of force decision making by utilizing established case law, Illinois Peace Officer’s Use of Force statute, and the Illinois SAFE-T Act.
