Jan Mirikitani leads the class in group discussions on course learning objectives on Supervisors being committed to their department’s mission towards developing their subordinates towards Officer safety, public safety, & adherence to SOPs. You will discuss multiple forms of leadership & when each is relevant to teambuilding & morale. First-line supervisors come from the ranks but must now support department & community goals bigger than friendships with fellow Officers.

Managing difficult employees & their negative impact if left unchecked12. Knowing your department policy on the Sergeant’s role in progressive discipline13.
