This 8-hour training course explores the legal, ethical, and practical aspects of the Duty to Intervene for law enforcement officers. It covers Illinois statutes, federal court rulings, and real-life studies where officers failed to intervene. Through lecture, discussion, video analysis, and scenario-based training, participants will learn intervention strategies, review legal precedents, and practice applying these skills in high-pressure situations. Define the Duty to Intervene as outlined in 720 /LCS 5/7-16 and understand its legal implicationsnalyze relevant federal court rulings (Graham v. Conner, Tennessee v.
